SECTION §106 INFORMATION
In anticipation of filing a permit application with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Honolulu District Office, the Traditional Hawaiian Fishpond Restoration Program (hereinafter “the program”) is seeking additional information related to historic and cultural properties that may be within and/or affected by program activities, as required under Section § 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, as amended. The draft Programmatic Environmental Assessment (dPEA) specifies the range of sites identified during the process of completing the dPEA. In anticipation of a determination by the federal agency that the program is a federal undertaking that could affect historic or cultural properties, the program is currently seeking information that assists in identifying historic or cultural properties under Section §106 and in determining whether or not the activities under this program have any potential to adversely affect those properties.
